Trans Loco show, Patriothall Gallery, Edinburgh.

Many of my works happen to exist as an account of events, starting as failed experiments and then developing into unexpected, sometimes humorous, tales.
My previous works have developed, grown and changed through a certain amount of time and the process involved.
There are a number of common denominators in my work I can identify: futility, anticipation and expectation on one side while, on the other hand, the sense of belonging, which I question when my immigrant/emigrant status emerges.
I am interested in the sense of belonging in the social and cultural dimension, where the single acknowledge being part of a group and the process of identification involves rituals, signs, symbolism and the language.
This is probably one of the reasons I have approached the subject of my last body of work for the Trans loco show about Italian criminal organisations (Camorra, Mafia, Ndrangheta) through the use of sculptural text. The idea was to represent them almost as a "family portrait".
